NAME

frompolar -- Convert from amplitude and phase to real and imaginary parts.

USAGE

frompolar ampl phase output

DESCRIPTION

This task takes a pair of images, the amplitude and phase of a Fourier transform, and converts to real and imaginary parts. As with other tasks in the fourier package, the names of the real and imaginary parts are built by appending "r" and "i" respectively to the name specified by the parameter output. For each pixel, the real part is the amplitude multiplied by the cosine of the phase, and the imaginary part is the amplitude multiplied by the sine of the phase. The phase is expected to be in radians.

PARAMETERS

ampl = "" [file name]
Name of the input amplitude image.
phase = "" [file name]
Name of the input phase image.
output = "" [file name]
Root name of the output image.

The letters "r" and "i" will be appended to the name to form the names of the images for real and imaginary parts respectively.

EXAMPLES

1. Convert amplitude a.hhh and phase ph.hhh to real part x00w6601rr.d0h and imaginary part x00w6601ri.d0h.

     fo> frompolar a.hhh ph.hhh x00w6601r.d0h
