4. ASTROPHYSICAL EXAMPLES

In order to show the strengths and limitations of this software package, we provide here two astrophysical contexts in which we make use of published emission line fluxes as input to the nebular tasks to construct a simple physical model and infer the ionic abundances. We then compare our results to those obtained with more elaborate physical models to illustrate the kinds of inferences that can reasonably be drawn using the nebular tasks.
