Science Data Analysis System
STSDAS is the software for reducing and analyzing data from the Hubble Space Telescope. The STSDAS software development group also produces and supports other software products such as the TABLES package for handling tabular-format data and IGI for the production of publication quality graphics in the IRAF environment.


                      TABLES v2.3 RELEASE SUMMARY


The primary changes incorporated in this release are:

1) New task THSELECT (based on HSELECT).
2) CFITSIO updated to v2.1

The Science Software Group is engaged in an effort to move to doing
most of its software development with Python. The next release of
STSDAS/TABLES (v3.0) will have new tasks that will require our new
command language for IRAF called PyRAF (see pyraf.stsci.edu). A beta
version of PyRAF is available, and we expect to release the first
version late this summer.

ttools/tprint.par             - 'pwidth' upper limit removed
      /tdump.par              - 'pwidth' default and lower limit changed
